To celebrate the Accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union, the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia to Ireland, Dublin and the European Commission Representation in Ireland, Dublin are organising the exhibition of photographs ,,Croatian lighthouses’’.

The official opening of the exhibition will take place on Monday, the 24th June 2013 at 6 pm, at the ,, European Union House', at 18 Dawson Street, Dublin 2.

The exhibition will be on display until July 5th 2013. Admission is free of charge.

Jasna Ognjanovac on the Republic of Croatia as the imminent 28th EU member state to pupils of three Irish primary schools in Dublin.

The exhibition of photographs depicting the nature and architecture of Croatia, by the renowned Croatian photographer Marko Vrdoljak, titled ,,Amazing Croatia’’, was opened on 27th November 2012 at the European Union House in Dublin. The exhibition was organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Dublin, the Public diplomacy service of the Analysis and political planning directorate of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, and the European Commission Representation in Ireland.

On Sunday, the 18th November 2012, the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Ireland participated in the traditional, 7th International Charity Bazaar Dublin – ICBD, which was organised by the diplomatic corps in Ireland and volunteers of Ireland and held at premises of the Burlington hotel in Dublin.
The International Charity Bazaar Dublin has been organised annually since 2006 and its proceeds are donated to charities and or non-governmental organisations resident in Ireland, primarily those which support education, women’s and children’s health, as well as those which assist in cases of natural disasters.

The purpose of the visit was the signing of the Agreement between the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia and Trinity College Dublin, on establishing a post of lector in Croatian language and literature. During the visit Minister Željko Jovanović, PhD met with the Minister of Education and Skills of Ireland, Ruairi Quinn, T.D.

A guitar recital featuring the Croatian guitarist Srđan Bulat was held at the National Concert Hall in Dublin on June 20th 2012 to mark the National Statehood Day of the Republic of Croatia

To mark the National Statehood Day of the Republic of Croatia, a guitar recital featuring the Croatian guitarist Srđan Bulat was held on June 20th 2012 at the National Concert Hall in Dublin. The recital was attended by approximately 200 guests.
The recital and the reception, which was held during the intermission, were attended by representatives of the Irish political, cultural, academic and business community, as well as the diplomatic corps.

On Sunday, 13th May 2012, the National Commemoration for the Great Famine of the mid-19th century victims was held in Drogheda, County Louth.
 
In addition to the representatives of the Irish Government and the Oireachtas, the Commemoration ceremony, during which the Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, held a speech, was attended by the representatives of the political leadership of Northern Ireland, local community representatives, as well as Ambassadors and representatives of more than thirty countries accredited to Ireland.

On behalf of the Republic of Croatia, the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Ireland, mr.sc. Jasna Ognjanovac placed a wreath on the place marking this tragic event.

DUBLIN, 10 May 2012

To celebrate Europe Day, The European Commission Representation in Ireland and the European Parliament Office in Ireland organised ‘’Afternoon Tea with Europe’’ on Wednesday, May 9th 2012.

This event also marked the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations 2012.

The event took place at the European Union House, 18 Dawson Street, Dublin 2 with the participation of the Embassies of all EU member states and Croatia as an acceding country. Each country offered drinks and desserts typical for their respective cousines.

The event was open to the public and it was free of charge.

Books Beyond Borders

Within the manifestation Books Beyond Borders, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of  Austria and the National Library of Ireland from October 21st until October 22nd 2011, the Ambassador of the Republic of  Croatia, Ms Jasna Ognjanovac presented to the auditorium of Dublin elementary school students and the representatives of the National Library of Ireland on October 21st 2011 at the National Library of Ireland the collection of stories by the renowned Croatian children’s books author Ivana Brlić Mažuranić ,,Tales of long ago’’. In addition to the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia, a number of Embassies resident in Ireland participated in this manifestation.

The classes are held on Saturdays in two groups (10 am and noon in the city centre), in accordance with the curriculum for Croatian classes abroad, for children aged between six and forteen. A delegation of Zadar County, the Town of Zadar and representatives of the tourism sector from Zadar have visited Dublin, travelling on the first direct Ryanair flight connecting Zadar and Dublin (the route being established earlier this month).

 

The direct flight between Dublin and Zadar will be a great opportunity for Irish people to further explore Croatia, as Zadar and its surroundings are one of the most beautiful areas Croatia has to offer. It will also be a great opportunity for bringing more Croatian visitors to Dublin and Ireland.
